The mother of tragic University of Idaho student Xana Kernodle is the subject of an investigation by internet sleuths. She is allegedly being held in Idaho on drug-related charges.
In the Kootenai County Jail in Idaho, where she was being detained on drug-related charges, Cara Denise Kernodle was listed as a detainee.

“That’s a pretty strong bond and happened so quickly after the deaths of Xana and the roommates as to be irrelevant,” they continued.
Cara Kernodle Arrest And Drug Charges
The mother of Xana Kernodle, Cara Kernodle, was detained on November 19 and is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
Cara Denise Kernodle was listed as a suspect in the Kootenai County Jail in Idaho, where she was being held on drug-related charges.
There has been a long history of accusations, according to a Twitter user. She went by a different name on social media, but after seeing a picture of her with her two daughters—one of whom was obviously X—it was determined that this was indeed her mother.
The user continued, “Not sure if there is a connection; it’s just another depressing level.”
A link to a 2013 warrant listing “Kernodle, Cara Denise” from Rathdrum, who was allegedly fined $2,000 for driving without a license, was added after baseball writer Stacie Wheeler became interested in the discussion.
Xana Kernodle’s Father Speaks About The Tragedy
It is unknown who Xana Kernodle’s mother is; however, after the tragedy, her father, Jeff Kernodle, spoke out to honor his courageous daughter.
He revealed that Xana had bruises on her body as evidence that she had retaliated against her attacker in an interview with Arizona outlet 3TV/CBS 5.
The grieving father commended his daughter for being a strong and capable woman. He asserted that she wasn’t overly worried about the drama or other issues. She never gave the outside world a thought; all she cared about was having fun.
Because his daughter spoke to her family frequently, according to Jeff, nothing about that evening seemed out of the ordinary. According to rumors, Xana and Chapin attended a party on the evening of November 12 while Mogen and Goncalves were out at a bar.
What Happened During The University Of Idaho Killings?
On November 13, Xana, 20, her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, and friends Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, both 21, were found dead from stab wounds on the second and third floors of an off-campus apartment building in Moscow, Idaho.
The killings are believed to have been carried out with a knife in “Rambo” fashion while the students were dozing off. Their housemates Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke were allegedly present during the killings but managed to flee unharmed.
They allegedly found the bodies and woke up hours later to call 911. According to Idaho Police, Mortensen, and Funke are not being treated as suspects in the case.
